Well, we were at Sick Kids today to have Jack's eye assessed after the redness and irritation he has been experiencing the last week. His pressure was very high and his doctor confirmed he has Glaucoma in his Coats eye. He is now on 4 different eye drops a day for the next week when we will go in to assess the eye again. Abnormal blood vessels have started growing on the front of his Coats eye (that is what caused the redness). We will discuss the course of action for the blood vessels once the eye pressure is stabilized.
I just wonder why this is happening now. Jack's eye has been stable for over nine years.... why is there a change now? He is 11, I wonder is approaching puberty and growth has any connection.
I'm just relieved it's nothing more serious yet.
