Dylan went on October 8 for his follow-up to his first laser surgery. Dr. Clark was very pleased with the results. He said the fluid in Dylan's eye was greatly reduced and due to the "good" response from the laser, he didn't want to go with Avastin at this point. We have to go back in 6 weeks for another evaluation and then we'll decide about the next laser treatment. My only concern was that the pressure in Dylan's eye was up from 13 on the day of the laser to 23 yesterday. The doctor said that could have been a reaction to the predisone drops he's been on since the surgery. Thanks for all the well-wishes and information! Ellen

Dylan had his second follow-up yesterday, November 12. Dr. Clark reported that almost all of the fluid in Dylan's eye had gone away. He said the 9:00 area of his right eye seem to leaking some fluid and we've scheduled another laser treatment for December 18. Dr. Clark said that when we can get the fluid to cease, he hopes that some of the eximate may be reabsorbed into the eye. He doesn't give us the indication that all will go away, but he is hopeful that some of the "dot," as Dylan calls it, will shrink. At this point, Dylan's vision his right eye is still worse than 20/400 -- he still can't see the big E unless he looks down and then up. Even then he can only see a bottom portion. I was happy that the pressure in the eye was back down to 12. Thanks again for all of the well-wishes and great information! Ellen
