Hi, recently we found a web link which suggested that one boy had Coat's in one eye at the age of 2, but five years later he was found with Coat's in the other eye as well!Did you hear any similar cases? What do you know about it?It is a bit scary for us as one son has got it on left eye and seems like the other son got it too, ( we about to see specialists) so we worried in few years time our sons will get blind!

Coat's can hit both eyes but it is not that common. My son was diagnosed at 5 & I can understand your fears. For the longest time I worried about him going blind. Thank God he has done well over the years. I pray your son will as well. Mary

Hi Mary, thanks for your message. How old is your son now?How is he doing?Would you know how to find out whether the other eye will get affected or not?

Hi, My three years old son is also diagnosed with Coats disease on Aug 2008. We had gone to three biggest hospitals here in Nepal and India. Everywhere the doctor said that Coat's disease is usually unilateral and bilateral cases are very uncommon. Though we are in the same state of fear as you are. For this our doctor has suggested for the regualar checkup of this healthy eye in every six months. presca
