Hey my name is Jason. I've been blind for longer then I can remember in my left eye. I am also adopted and have no previous medical records from before that event. I remember the day my parents told me I had to have my left eye taken out. At first the jokes got to me and I refused to go to school since I was the "one eye guy, or the pirate" and many other names. After a while people got used to it and stopped asking whys wrong with your eye (because after the procedure my eye lid had scar tissue on it causing me to appear to have a lazy eye) Dealing with self concious issues was the worst part of having a glass eye. I was always afraid to remove my hand from my eye. Today I've gotten over most of it. I still get the occasional, "Hey, what happend to your eye?" comments and such and its not something I mention on a first date unless its brought up. So thats my story in a very small nut shell.
