Just received some discouraging news from my son. Little history, age 12 first diagnosed with Coat's. Unilateral left eye. Laser treatment resulted in resolution of the hemorrhaging. Fast forward 15 years later. My son awoke this morning with floaters in his left eye. Not to be denied a trip to Lake Tahoe to ski he proceded to the airport and his flight but at the same time began to look for a doctor in Tahoe who might see him. Arrived in Tahoe this afternoon eye problem not resolved. His search for a doctor proved successful. A short 3 mile cab ride from the airport had him in a chair at the opthamologist office. Anxiously awaiting a call or text, my cell phone beeps with a text message; "aneurysm awaiting laser treatment. Coat's Lives." Any answers?
I am so sorry to hear about your son. I have never heard of an aneurysm associated with Coats. Do the doctors know that it is related to the Coats? Was the laser treatment successful? Are you still in touch with the doctor who originally diagnosed and treated your son? Sorry for so many questions. I hope everyone is doing well.
